Sydney Cheese Festival. Free tastings talks and all the smelling you can handle! Yes I said cheese festival.

Cheese festival

Sydney Cheese Festival. BON FROMAGE. October 14-15th Sydney Carriageworks 11-6pm

If you are a bit of a cheese monster then pencil in these dates because Sydney is finally getting it’s own cheese festival and its free entry. Yes free entry.

There is only one thing that ranks above all else- even sugar, for food lovers attention and that is cheese.

On the 14- 15th October you can try some of the best European cheeses for free.

Cheese festival

We aren’t strangers to European cheeses here in Australia they are available, and for a country so far away from Europe we certainly do love cheese. So, here’s your chance to try before you buy.  Chat to cheese industry professionals and listen to inspiring cheesy talks. Learn why cheeses taste and smell like they do. The  free  but ticketed  masterclasses  will  teach  you  how  to  match  your  cheese  with  wine,  the  difference  between  creamy  and  stinky  cheese,  and  the  history  of  European  cheese.

There will be a cheese “Piazza” resembling a cheese marketplace where you can buy wine, listen to the chatter and buy cheese too.

SYDNEY  TO  GET  HALF  TONNE  OF  FREE  CHEESE  AT   BON  FROMAGE  CHEESE  FESTIVAL    14th-15th  OCTOBER

You know how much you love cheese?.

Well so does half of Sydney so don’t wait till the last minute.

I’ll see you there!

That would be a fantastic event to attend. I think I just saw an incredible display of cheeses on your Instagram. I’ve been thinking of you often and wondering how you are. You certainly seem to be very busy with your blog (unlike me!) Well done to you xx

Amazing, I sure hope you sample a bunch and blog about them! We get some European cheeses here in Ontario but the Milk Board has a very strong lobby so it is rather limited. We don’t get many unpasteurized kinds of cheese either because our government deemed it unsafe for consumption!

      Hi Eva.
      Hope you are well.
I was just reading your post about the lovely butcher that has had to move. Sad
I am looking forward to the cheese Festival but unfortunately our government is rather strict on importing raw cheese here too and we pretty much only have harder varieties like ossau irraty (sheep semi hard). But of course I will sample a bunch for sure. We have a large amount of European cheeses imported here already as I guess you do in Canada. There are some locally made raw milk cheeses here but they are mostly in the harder varieties too. So unfortunately I wont be able to show you too many of those.
