Sydney’s Craft beer week 21-30th October
Sydney Craft beer week celebrations were launched last night in preparation for a week of fun and adventures from Friday 21 st to Sunday 30th October 2016.
This is the 6th year and as SCBW director Joel Connolly says it is bigger and better than ever, with over 100 events and up to at least 75 venues. It started as a way to make sure that at least once a year all of the beer geeks could get together and enjoy a mad beer. Thanks to a few Brewster pioneers craft beers have become part of going out for a cold one. A good very delicious cold one at that. For 8 hoppy days in October craft brews will take over a venue somewhere near you.
The hope of gathering like minded people into a community has become a reality with a diverse program of activities. Craft Beer week is designed with both family and friends in mind…..oh and lots of silly funny stuff too.

You’ll be able to pay homage to craft beers from other parts of the globe as well as all over Australia. Craft Beers are a not only a local but a global trend and our brews stand up to the best in flavour and diversity.
I’ll be looking out for The Pint of Origin running all week during the festival. This aims to turn Sydney into one big craft appreciation society, by opening the taps up to craft beers from all states of Australia. Six pubs will get in on the action so you can try out each pub and each states’ beer. The Empire in Annandale will host Tassie, The Welcome in Rozelle will be serving up Queensland brews and so on. For all the pubs and information CHECK HERE. #PoOSyd16 vote for your favourite.
If you love beer or if you are just curious then this is the chance to try new brews from some of the hundreds of brewers in Sydney and from around Australia. Follow the program to make the most of free samples and great beer classes. It’s madness….you can also try chocolate or cheese and beer matching, ale dinners, whisky and beer snack matching , sausage making, golf, throwing axes, listening to music and even eating pizza, ALL while drinking beer.
Special Treat : Free hair of the Dog Breakfast at Young Henry’s DAILY 10 am – 11 am. Be with others in your condition..
Hop on board the SydneyCraftBeerWeek bus.
YES a bus.
If you haven’t heard of Daves Brewery Tours then sorry… you have been missing out….literally. But here’s your chance to get acquainted because he has teamed up with the festival to provide a hop on hop off shuttle ( I am sure that was an intended pun) to get you to and from all of those events in safety. Don’t fight over a designated driver……...Find the timetable and buy tickets to the Gala and The Industry Awards on 28th October on the website.
